There was more half term fishing fun on Tuesday when young anglers from the Wigton Youth Station Fishing Club visited Crofton Lake for a friendly competition organised by Borderlines.
Everyone taking part caught fish with David Nicholson and Declan Harrison battling it out fish for fish on adjacent pegs.
Both anglers had caught 26 fish when in the dying seconds of the match David hooked a pound plus rudd/bream hybrid and had to play it carefully on his light tackle and 4 metre whip.
The Borderlines match officials distracted by all this excitement failed to blow the final whistle on time and Declan took full advantage adding another 4 small fish.
After a stewards enquiry it was decided that David and Declan tied for first place. In third place was Kirsty Graham with 16 fish. A big thank you to CADCAC for allowing them to use the lake.
