Greystoke School at Whins Pond.
With the weather a little more like summer today, it was the field trip for Greystoke school to Whins pond near langwathby. There were twenty six pupils for the first session who only managed to land one fish despite the numbers fishing, it was not for lack of trying though. It was left up to the younger ones in the afternoon to show how it should be done.26 pupils for the morning session all keen and raring to go.
9 younger pupils for the afternoon session, a little more laid back and just oozing confidence.
Chris explaining a few of the finer details of plumbing the depth and how to impale maggots.
Ready for the off.
Let the fishing begin.
A nice vista to view while you wait for the float to disappear.
Sorting the bigger maggots from the rest.
A nice roach landed and a few that dropped off for these two.
A fish for the girls.
A nice perch to end the day, smiling faces, wonderful weather and hopefully a new outdoor pursuit beckons for some!
